Anyone change there own tires ?
I'm getting real tired of paying to have my tires changed.
I had my front tire changed by the dealer on Saturday. Took the wheel off the bike and took it to them for the change. $257.10 later I walked out the door with a new tire.
My local dealer won't change a tire if you don't buy the tire from them. That sucks.
Got home and figured if I could do it myself I could save $109.00 on a front tire change buying tires and tubes from motorcycle superstore and doing the labor myself.
So for you who change your own tires what equipment to you use ?
I'm seriously concidering a no mar tire changer

I do my own, learned on dirt bike tires. The hardest part is gettin the wheel off the bike, if you have a lift then it's pretty easy. this is the vid that taught me and it works out pretty good. The best piece of advice I got was that if something is being really difficult, your doing it wrong. This is part 1 of 3, but lots of vids out there.

I own the NO-MAR professional model which comes with a static balancer. It also includes just about any tool you might need to change a tire including changing up to 23" automotive tires. I just did front tire and brake pads today for my favorite P&A sales person at my local dealership. She is a really nice lady and she will payback the favor when I need it. I did it for $30 labor. She supplies the tire, brake pads and weights. Took about 2 hours because she likes to chat. The guys in service really dislike doing employee bikes because their pay is based on the charges the service writer estimates and bills.
By the way, using a static balancer is the best way to balance a tire. It how the racers do it.
You can't go wrong with the NO-MAR tire changer. Now none of my bikes EVER go the dealer for service. I do it all, yes including engine builds, granted I do send the heads out.
