Default front brake issue

I did some searches but couldn't seem to see much on my issue. I have an 09' Fat Bob w/only 7K on it. My front brake lever doesn't seem to want to return where it should after using-hence keeping my brake light lit! Appears the piston is pushing back. Tried cleaning, lubing and it worked for a bit but by next day same issue. Any advice/suggestions truly appreciated as it isn't a particularly safe issue. Just wondering what I need to buy or do to correct. Thanks folks!!

I would guess that either the lever is dry and sticking, or the piston inside the master cylinder is sticking. I suggest you remove the master cylinder from the bike, strip clean and overhaul it.

Does the light go off if you move the lever manually? If not, it is the switch. If you have ever had the lever off, it is easy to damage the switch.

It USED to when I pushed it back-but now it resists and stays lit...IF you hold your mouth just right and wiggle the lever it may go out.. :-/

I discovered the hard way, when I first owned a disc-brake bike, that it goes off very fast. Looks like old tea, even with a scum on top! Disgusting to look at. Change your brake fluid every couple of years at most.

Sounds as if your bike is on its way back to good health!
