Default Wanting to put solid Fat Boy rear wheel on Bagger?

HDF,
Ok I did a search on this topic and only came up with a few post.
I have been wanting to do project. I have a 98 Road King and want to use a solid rear wheel off of a Fat Boy. If I were to do this...should I look for wheels off of Fat Boy's in similiar years as my Road King? Or will Newer wheels work with a change of bearing styles?
I totally trust you guys would know what to do.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason, if you look for a wheel off a similar model year it should fit. Your bike should have tapered roller wheel bearings, the same as earlier model FBs. Fitting later model wheels with ball-race bearings can be done, but there are complications that make it less easy.
