Default Building my own wheel?

I'm looking at doing one of two things...

1) Ordering new hubs, rim, spokes and building my own wheel.... or

2) Disassembling my current wheels, getting new spokes and re-lacing it after custom touches (i.e. powder coat)

I understand it's time consuming, but anyone have some suggestions on this or sources that could assist me?

Much obliged....

Harley service manual has a section on wheel lacing.

Damn, I have Clymers. I'll have to check and see if it's in my Clymers manual when I get home.

Keep in mind that if you take it somwhere to get trued that you are at there mercy. A local stealer recently charged me 1.5 hours at $80 per to do my brand new rim and 40 spokes. Hope your " rim job" goes better than mine. Next time I'll just by a whole wheel.
