Dyna wheel question..
I have a 1998 fxdl and am in need of a rear wheel and I am seeing that pre 2000 wheels are different from 2000 and later and I really don't have any idea what all is different but would like some light on the subject of what is different I have heard some stuff but don't know whats right and not ... Will a pre 2000 fat boy solid wheel the same size as my wheel now fit my bike and my stuff from my wheel fit the wheel?? Or what wheels can i use or not use??Thanks In advance for any input .

Mikey7453,
The difference in the wheels is the width of the hub and the size of the bearing. We do not have direct measurements on these or we would be happy to help, however we do carry solid chrome rear wheels that would bolt directly on to your bike if you may be interested in that.
We also manufacture custom wheels that will bolt directly on to your 1998 with no modifications. Check out our website or give us a call if you have any further questions.
Ryd Safe.

Around 2000 Harley changed over from tapered roller wheel bearings to sealed ball races. Those bearing types are not interchangeable, so that is one reason the wheels are different styles, because the entire wheel range is new, to take the later bearings.
If your bike currently has tapered bearings, you can probably change over, but you may have to make some adjustments, such as modifying or replacing spacers. If you only want a bolt-in that change probably won't work, but if you are a resourceful chap you should be able to make it work!
I have a Deuce rear wheel I plan fitting to my 1990 bike.........
