Default Brake Upgrade Thoughts

Any thoughts on brake upgrades? I do a lot of street riding and commuting but my stock brakes have nearly killed me yesterday.

I ride a 2007 FXDL with ohlin rear shocks, progressive fronts, and marathon tires. Good controlled sticky ride but stock brakes feel squishy.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Sounds like you need to bleed your brakes and maybe your brake pads are glazed if so try some kevlar pads I use lyndall gold + why better than stock pads they say 20% better stopping power.

You may wish to consider real pair of Brembo's and 320 mm rotors with real pads that give a sticky 0.7 coefficient of friction. The conversion between a dual disk conversion is easy and fairly inexpensive. Jay Risk did a post on his conversion where he reduced his stopping distance by 20 feet at 50 MPH. I have the HD Brembo M/C but working on a conversion kit for a Brembo radial M/C which is much different than the HD Brembo M/C. Report on the Brembo radial M/C V/S the HD Brembo M/C with the same Brembo calipers/MMC 320mm rotors. What I am talking about is:

Brembo RCS 19 Radial Mount Brake Master Cylinder
