need a back tire ASAP: 200-55/17

i'm down to 3 choices:
Avon Cobra av72
Metzeler ME880
Pirelli Night Dragon

didnt like OEM Dunlops, and although i loved my Bridgestone BT20s they just lasted less than 2k miles - i cant afford that!

any other suggestions?!

please keep in mind that i'm in Europe (Ireland)

Only one choice old chap - Avon! I have never used a large tyre like that, but have owned Harleys since the 70s and always go back to Avons.

 

Metzler all the way. Good wear pattern, looks good and rides even better. Going around corners and hitting an imperfection in the road is not a problem. I'm running a 200/50/17 on my 2006 Night Train and I'm planning on going 210/40/18 with a new rim or upgrading to a 250 kit.

 

My bike prefers the Avons.
I tried 2 Metz, 2 Dunlops and the rest were Avons.
52k miles and on my 8th or 9th rear tire.

seems Avon wins hands down, then maybe is a matter of taste in certain areas?! (eg. more grip in the wet vs. longer tread life).

infact, after long search i'm waiting on my first Cobra
(had a Venom in the Sporty before, and i liked it a lot!)

i've read a lot of happy reviews here since my OP, and i got very curious to try the Pirelli, but i'd be facing a wait of 3 weeks, and i'm down to the canvas, no way i'm waiting that long!
