Default New rear tire on Fatboy

I haven't bought new tires for my bike before - bought it two years ago and its time. I have no clue what to go with. I'd like to get some info from somebody besides a dealer. I ride it pretty hard and got 7k plus out of stock tire. I looked at Motorcycle superstore, but there are too many for me to pick from

- btw what it the difference between Metzeler 150/80H/16 and 150/80VR/16?

05 Fatboy with stock Dunlop 150/80/e16

The main difference between those two Metzelers is the speed rating, H or V. We Harley riders don't need the V rating (over 130mph I think). V tyres often don't wear so well, as they don't have as deep a tread as the H. Also the R refers to radial construction.

You will probably find more tyre information than you can take in on the Softtail forum! Not so many members pass through this one. For an improved ride Metzelers and Avons seem to come out tops.

If you get Metzlers insist on the German made.. Not the ones from Brazil.

But i'll also say look the Dunlop E3. I have them and a buddy just put a set on his FB.. He couldnt be happier.

I agree. And I run e3 dunlops. But some dont think about that. And if he's getting a foreign brand at least get the ones that aren't having issues after 4k miles.
