Default Cracked front Brake Rotor..with pics!

I was on the ground taking out a broken speedo cable on my '87 Sporty. I glanced over and saw this.

Cracked all the way through.

Upon further inspection I found that the right side of the caliper was clamped onto the brake rotor. So now I gotta take it apart and see why it didn't release. Anyone have any advice before I start taking things apart? Did some research already and I'm guessing its the brake piston that's stuck.

Over 23 years of heating up and expanding and cooling down and contracting. Also the area where the pads contact the rotor heat up much faster than the center so that area is trying to expand faster than the center, add to that the fact that SS doesn't conduct heat nearly as well as cast iron.

I just took the pads off. So the right side is stationary while the left has compression (it moves. There was no space btw the right stationary pad and the disc. So that means that it was dragging? I had some guys replace the tires a while back. It was a metric dealership. Would you say that they torqued the caliper down too much?
