Default Kenda Tires

Anyone ever try kenda tires? I went in for a new tire and the shop owner is trying to sell me a kenda. I've never heard of them, couldn't find many reveiws online. Its got similar tread to a dunlop (which is what i've always used before), buts its quite a bit cheaper. I am on a bit of a budget, but i gotta get miles out of it too. Thanks

I haven't heard of them either. My only experience of cheap tyres is on a car and they don't usually give such good mileage. Cheap to buy, but have to be replaced sooner!

This is their US website. They seem to be Taiwanese.

Kenda tires are made in Vietnam, Taiwan, and China.

I wouldn`t use them if they were free.

I had one on the rear of a '96 Yamaha Virago 750.

Hard as a brick and twice as hard to wear out. I would use one to get home from a long trip just to save money, but I wouldn't start a long trip with them.

If you are on a budget, give Shinko tires a look. I have been running their SR 712 tires on my Ironhead for about 15 years. They wear good and do great in the rain....Matter of fact, when my RKC needs both tires replaced at the same time, I'm gonna give their WWW Touring tires a try.

Thumbs up

I run a Kenda on the back of my FXSTC and have had no issues with it whatsoever. I bought it because of the oddball size I needed (130/70-18), but have no regrets and it's been roughly 5000 miles and still looks like new.

I want to say I have kendas on the rear of my 92 camry. I bought them at Benny's. (kind of like a small Kmart store).
I hear you on the limited budget, that's why I put them on my car. But I wouldn't have them on my bike.

I found that www.tiresunlimited.com and www.jakewilson.com seem to have the best prices I found.

Good luck
