you are right!!!!

I took it apart and was pushing it in to actuate the signal!
It has to come out, and it doesn't.
What is the fix? New switch?

nope...in turns it OFF

so...the "nipple" isn't sticking out enough, or not at all, or...?

if that "nipple" doesn't have full travel anymore, and it's not just because something's hitting it, then it's broken and yes you need to replace it. They're not expensive at all. $10 or less. and you can just remove the solder and re-solder your current wires on the new switch, or do whatever, just make sure you get the connections correct.

I can't take credit for anything...just something I learned recently after doing a lot of reading.
