Dunlop Elite 3's on my 08 EGC
After some reading here and elsewhere im considering the Dunlop Elite 3's for my 2008 EGC.
I have a couple questions about replacing just the rear tire and not the front.
I currently have the stock Dunlop 402's on both front and rear. The front tire still has plenty of tread on it after almost 14K miles on it.
So if i decide to go with the Elite 3 on the rear, is it a good idea to match tires now or just replace the front tire with an Elite 3 when the time comes?
I was also looking at this chart on Dunlops website: http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tire...tire.asp?id=86
The rear tire MU90B16 has a higher load rating and deeper thread depth than the MT90B16.
Sounds like a no brainer to pony up the extra $15 for the longer lasting tire right?
The little woman is along with me for a lot of my riding and we plan a long trip this summer.
Does the MU90B16 with its higher load rating have a downside? Like maybe a harder rubber, hence poorer traction? There always seems to be trade offs and im debating on which one to go with.
My plan right now is to just get the rear Elite 3 (MU90B16) and then grab the Front Elite 3 (MT90B16) later once it wears some.
Anyone else here do something similar or have any other comments on this?

Elite 3 Deal
After a little more searching here, i realized that most of my questions had already been asked and answered.
Due to the Elite 3's only being available in black, i chose to replace both tires.
I did go with the Elite 3 MU90B16 for the rear and the Elite 3 MT90B16 for the front.
At the recommendation of someone on this forum, i went with www.jakewilson.com.
I found a $20 of $150 coupon code CC20 and they also deducted $10 for buying 2 or more tires to boot! Got both tires for $176.98 shipped.
Coupon code field doesn't show up till your near the end of the checkout process.
Considering the prices i got from my 2 local HD dealers of $304.10 and $354.90 i think its a hell of a deal.
Edit: Received the tires 1 day after ordering them. It appears they did ship from Utah, so overnight shipping to Mass for free is just more icing on the cake. Will do business with them again. Thanks to whoever it was for the suggestion.
