Unhappy Front brake rub

I have a 2002 FLHTC that I have just replaced the front left rotor because it was constantly rubbing when I let off the brake. I also cleaned the caliper and it seems to be working fine. Now I have the rubbing noise back again and I notice it tis already showing premature wear on the outside of the rotor. I have aligned the axle twice and it still makes the constant rubbing noise. Any suggestions?

Try recleaning the caliper pistons again. Spray with brake cleaner and scrub with an old toothbrush. Make sure all the pistons operate/move at about the same rate. You may also want to recheck the torque on the rotors, axle and brake calipers. Also check wheel/tire balance.

The OEM rotors and Hayes 4-piston brake setup on '00 - '07 dressers were always chronic rubbers. Don't recall what year it was but someone discovered if you swapped the rotors the rubbing stopped. For years after the dressers came from the factory with the left rotor stamped "right" and the right rotor stamped "left" after they reversed them for production.

Mine rubbing got real bad about the time the rotors started to warp. Replace 'em with floating rotors and never had that problem again.

Like brake pads, rotors should always be replaced in sets.

No mention has been made about bleeding any air out of the lines, I suggest you bleed the brakes.

I will definitley do the brake bleeding. But am I to understand that the rotors could be switched with the one saying left to go on the right and visa-versa?
