Default Rear Brake Screeching??

My rear brake is screeching pretty badly. Is ther anything "basic" I could do to stop the screeching sound? There doesn't seem to be any reduction in performance, just a loud embarrasing screech. Thanks in advance.

The only thing you can try with your current pads is to bevel the leading edge of the pad...basically file it down to an angle. The best thing to do is get rid of your metallic OEM pads and get some Kevlar pads. They will be quiet. I prefer EBC brand myself. I get them from Jireh Cycles for 19 bucks a pair.
