Default brake squeaks

My front brake squeaks a little after 6k miles. Need I be concerned? Is there a simple remedy?

Chances are the caliper piston has rubbed the paint/finish on the back of brake pad off which would cause a squeak/squeal. Not that big of a problem but is annoying. There are cut to fit self sticking pad shims you install on the backside of brake pads that will help take care of the squeak/squeal.
