Default Sorry about beating a dead horse,

but I just sent a complaint to Dunlop about their lousy tires. There is no reason why with normal riding that we can't get over 5000 miles on a tire.Planned obsolescence, call it what you want,it sucks. There is no reason that I can think of that they can't use a harder compound in making these 200/55/r17 tires, then again ,I'm no engineer!!!
Perhaps if you feel the same way, you'll send them a blast or two.Dunlop website.com. It can't hurt to try. Rant over ,thanks.

I've had great results with my stock Dunlop tires. I got around 15k on my original rear and have 27k on my original front.

You probably don't have the 200/55/r17 tire.

Dunlop tires do wear faster then most, but that is the price you pay for good traction.

Buy geezer tires like bagger tires. They are harder tires then useing sport tire that are made for your bike. Or just ride like the geezers and your tires will last longer. I was in line at Harley Steelership buying my tire two weeks in a row. A person ask me how long do those tire last I just had to tell him a week. I will get 8k to 10k on the lowrider and if I go out playing it will last a week. On the RG tires last 10k to 12k as I ride the same with both bikes. Just the geezer tires are harder rubber.

I wonder why there isn't a choice for the cruisers. I don't hotdog my bike anymore, learned the hard way many years ago. I don't corner hard nor do I care to. It would be nice to be able to buy tires designed for touring rather than performance for the dyna line.

Tire rating for weight and speed. The geezer tire are H rating for weigth not speed. The sport tire are rated V rating for speed over 140 MPH less weight rating.
