Pirelli Night Dragon Tires
#41
Been having a hard time getting Night Dragons for my Fat Boy (waiting more than a year) but they finally arrived.
140/75-17 front and 200/55-17 rear. The set was $270 delivered to the house from SW Moto Rubber. The factory D407's (available only at the dealer) was more than $200+tax just for the rear tire......
These tires were manufactured in Germany.

Guys, I have just been reading your comments regarding the Pirelli ND's, I have an interest in a new rear tire as I have just completed a 7,000 km trip (Australia) with new tire's fitted. The front Dumlop D401 is fine and looks like it will last over 10,000kms, but to get only 7,000kms from the rear D407 is unacceptable especially when I got 13,000kms out of the original.
Your comments will make me take a closer look at the Pirelli ND's, thanks very much. Paul Weston

For one thing they are less priced. About 1/3 less.
Probably cause they don't have the HD name in several places.
They are steel belted radials.
they are made in Germany, at least mine are. Germans make good --things.
Have just a few miles cause either too wet or too cold. At 67 I make choices sometime.
I think Perille owns Mitzler now, I read somewhere.

I just put a set on my '07 FXSTC. I only have a few hundred miles on them, some in the rain, and so far I like them. I'm just curious for more feedback from those that put some on last year now that you have more miles on them. Obviously, for me it's too late since I already own them, but I'm wondering how they are holding up. Thanks and ride safe...

I got 5000 miles out of my rear.... was nice riding tire (Probably smoothest i have had on the bike)... I would rate it about the same as Avon Venom X as far as handling... Mileage sucks...Will stick with EIII or Commander for that price... EIII to me is the best bang for the buck and grips as good as any other tire... bit harder compound but they last and last....I am going through the Commanders i bought for $60.00 a piece from Jake Wilson while they had them on sale... I have 1 left and a K591 Elite II and then back to EIII for me.
