If you wast to run a black wall run a 120, if you wast to run a whitewall run a 90. The 90 will have to be stretched onto a 3" rim as opposed to the 120 which will fit right up.

Came across this old thread...
Thinking about installing a 21" black-spoked wheel with WWW tire. The only size tire currently available is the MH90-12WWW. I've been advised that with this tire I should use a 21x3.0" wheel with an inner tube. Is the inner tube used to "stretch" the tire to fit the wheel?
Anyone out there currently using a similar set-up on their front wheel?
I have used a 21x3.5" wheel with 120/70-21 blackwall tire for a number of years. Just looking for a different look but not at the cost of safety. Thoughts?
Most likely you are being told to run an inner tube due to the fact of it being a spoked wheel. Although most spoke wheel companies advertise their wheels as tubeless, it is cheap insurance.
Not a real good idea to t run the 90/90 but I have seen it done. It really stretches the tire flatter than it should be. If you run this combo I would really keep an eye on the air pressure and never let it get low. If a 90/90 tire on a 3.5 wheel goes flat while riding it will break the bead and bad things could happen and not sure a tube would help.
i ran a 90/90 WWW (metlzer) on my dna 21x3 mammoth spoke front rim tubeless for over 2 years - 20k miles and no problems i was on the end of my 2nd tire lifes.
