I went to remove the brake caliber on My 2000 FXDX and none of the sockets I have seem to fit. The bolts look like 12 point bolts , look more like a Torx bolt to me. Stupid question I guess , but what type of scoket and size do Ineed to remove the caliber. 7/16 to larger , 3/8's to small at least on with the craftmans.

Try a 10mm 12 point socket.

 

Yup, 10 mm 12-pt. socket. More metric magic.

 

Yep- 10mm 12 pointer. Wait till you go to try to replace the caliper to fork bolts with HD chrome ones .... BTW, the pad pins are 1/4" 12 point- I had to buy a whole set (Craftsman) cause they did't have one single 1/4" 12 point in any socet size or depth...go figure..

 

10mm 12 point. Took me a couple of days to figure this one out too...
