Default 2009 Road King Classic wheel swap

I did some digging before posting, hope I didn't miss the answer. My dad has an 09 FLHRC he's trying to get away from the spoke wheels on(tubes, spoke headaches, etc). Found someone local selling cast aluminum wheels from an 11 Road King with half life Michelin Commanders on a steal. The question being, are there differences in hub width requiring spacer changes or any rotor/belt pulley differences known. This is new territory for me as I don't really change my wheels away from stock. Thanks in advance for information.

They'll bolt right in place.

Keep in mind, if his bike has ABS, the donor wheel needs to have an ABS bearing on one side. If he doesn't have ABS, then make sure the donor wheel is setup for no ABS. This is simple, it's just an ABS wheel bearing or not.

I was familiar with the ABS aspect (I have a 15 FLHXS with ABS) but had a guy locally telling us you'd have to have custom spacers fabricated. Wasn't sure if the accuracy of that, thought I'd ask here.

I appreciate the info sent, I've used the Ronnie's link in the past. I just wasn't sure if 11 OEM mags would fit an 09 with factory spoke wheels without a bunch of custom work being done.

The axle spacers on touring bikes are the same 2008 up through at least 2013. The ABS bikes have the bearing with reluctor, and that the wheel speed sensor acts as an axle spacer when you have ABS.

#10 ABS sensor and axle spacer
#17 NON-ABS axle spacer.

That's pretty much what I suspected, didn't think they'd build the RK vs RKC differently due to mass production and such. Just didn't want to advise my pops wrong.

Maybe what he was talking about was that you could install wheels with ABS bearings on a Non-ABS bike by using a spacer that's shorter than STD against the ABS bearing. The STD spacer and ABS Sensor/spacer combo are different lengths.

Or change the bearings.

Goggle ***** Shiny and give them a call. I replaced my 2012 FLHRC spoke wheels with cast units chromed by them. They will know what you need. Plus, the wheels look outstanding!
