Default Wheel balancing

Ok first time poster hopefully I do this rite, I have an 05 softail standard has and aluminum front wheel but I have never seen this many wheel weights on a wheel not even a car, so my questions is could this be a wheel defect? Or simply just a really bad front tire I just bought the bike and have only rode it twice didn’t notice and shakes or anything out of the ordinary but I’m asking because I live in pa and the bike is parked for winter and I’m planning on purchasing new tires during off season but if it’s something maybe off with the wheel I’d like advice on which route to go I like the look of the wheel would like to keep it but don’t care for it if I’m going out have that much of the wheel covered with weights any input would be much appreciated

That is a lot of weight, had I been at the shop while they were installing I would have asked they rotate the tire 180 degrees to the wheel, see if it gets any better.

That said, chances are the issue is in the tire, not the wheel. Mention your concerns when you get new rubber, a decent shop should be able to resolve if the wheel really is an issue. Good luck.

Remove the wheel weights and install balance beads in the tire. No more unsightly stick-on weights.

although 2oz of wheel weights does seem a little excessive on a skinny front tire.

Read about weighting the tire internally, and as it changes in shape here:

I believe tire weights are not made of lead anymore . So if the weights are much light they need to use more of them .
and you don’t see them on cars rims anymore because they hide them on the inside of the rim where you can’t see them .
