I never had an issue with Shinkos 777s. In fact I like them, thought they grip the road well and have been through 3 sets with no issues. Until now lol. Had a new set installed and my bike had to get retuned and dyno'd from a new exhaust. The tires have seen no road time and went from my garage to the dyno. Well he called about an hour later and showed me this happened. Wasn't even letting into it and was still getting warmed up. Thought this was interesting to share. I brought the wheel back to the tire place and he's working with the rep to see what can be done. Just thought I'd share.

Wow...that looks like a very low adhesion of the top rubber to the carcass. Very interesting...

IIRC, It turned out to be interference inside the fender
Nothing to do with tire failure

I have no problem running Shinkos on my dual sport but I'd never trust one on a heavy HD.

I was a big fan of Shinko 777-HD tires for years on my Fatboy...until riding down to OCMD bike week this year. The rear tire still had great life left to it but while riding to bike week I developed an extremely bad shimmy while riding behind a truck or switching lanes at hiway speed. It felt like theback of the bike was going to come out from under me.

The first thing I did when we got to bike week was buy and have the rear tire replaced. The used a 401 dunlop which I have never been a fan of but the issue was gone.

I think I am going to go back to pirelli night dragon's which I used on my Dyna
