Finally got my wheel I purchased of Ebay from cycle parts business. Shipped Fedex Ground, hubs are scraped and gouged on both sides. One side is the worst, the side opposite the rotor. Going to have the shipper file a claim, only insured for $100. Problem is who takes responsibility, bad packing or careless handling. Would like to dress it up with a file and touch up a couple small gouges if this possible. No other blemishes on the wheel. Seems they dragged the box on the concrete and wore a hole thru the box on both sides. I would whether not return it if it can be smoothed out and touched assuming it runs true. Hopefully get some money for repairs, I have a friend that knows someone that can clean up for around $50. I got what I consider a killer deal on it.

 

If the seller can't pack properly to protect the wheel during shipping then he is responsible.

I have received a few wheels like that and always receive some compensation (if I want to keep the wheel)

From the picture (only one side shown) it looks very usuable. Just clean it up if you would like. But get some get some money back. It wasn't your fault.
