Bad Michelin Commander 3s?
#392
I didn't know there was thread here on this topic. I posted this earlier today over in the 2014-23 Touring forum. Bottom line: Michelin knew there were issues back in 2021 and their own website basically admits to it. I bought a set of C-III's back in February and the buzzing has gotten so bad I don't think they're safe to ride anymore. Due to their insane CS which is basically set up to fail, I'm ditching both front and rear tires at about 4k miles in favor of Dunlop AE's.

Please see my linked post above. The short answer is yes, they changed the design, but given all the comments it's unclear whether it helped.

Time for a new set of tires.. Going to go with the commander II's as at the time the III's the front was out of stock..
Big difference in prices too..
My time on the III's were no complaints! Got 17 thousand plus miles on them and could easily get 3 thousand more out of them but the wet roads changed my mind..
Vety smooth tire, road snakes weren't noticeable and I could easily scrape the forward controls left and right...
I know people had vibration, but I never had a problem. This was on a Dyna tho..
Tires are like opinions..

True.... One just has to pay attention to the ride of the tires from all manufacturers....
I had a rear Elite start to separate at the seem on the Dyna, got in touch with Dunlop and the replaced the tire and covered labor as well... Was going to replace them with Elite's when I needed to replace the tires but at that time they were back ordered, so I got the III's
