I took a satisfaction survey after my first call to them about the issue. On that initial call the rep told me my dealer had to make the warranty claim and he couldn’t help me. So when I got this survey, I didn’t give a positive response. In that survey in the comment section I said I was not happy that Drag Specialties said they couldn’t guarantee the delivery of a good copy, and my dealer wasn’t going to “keep trying” with free installs/removes/test rides, and in any case I would be stuck with the C3 rear, and since getting a good front didn’t seem like it was going to happen, I’d be left with a mis-matched set unless I wanted to eat the cost of the rear tire and labor, if I gave up on the C3 and went with another brand.
Today I got this response via email: “Michelin would like to thank you for taking the time to reply to our survey, we have notice that you were not completely satisfied and we would be more than happy to discuss the matter at your own convenience, please call us at 866-524-2835 from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm est.
So that’s where it was left.

Also according to your comment which we totally agree that you should not mix your tire brand and model. Please have the dealer call us to provide us some information and confirmation of the issue and we will be more than happy to review your case for assistance.”
So I called and the rep I spoke with didn’t seem to understand that my dealer didn’t want to keep “trying” C3 fronts hoping to get a good one. She said they would deal with my shop directly and asked me to have him call. So I conveyed the message, and he said he’d call and see what they propose. I also told the Mich rep that the Drag Specialties rep said they couldn’t “hand pick” a tire checking for one without the offset mold, so it would be a crapshoot getting a good one. They said again they would deal with my shop directly. I can only assume they mean they will send a tire that was checked. For whatever that’s worth...So that’s where it was left.

Same here, and for me, it's just not worth the aggravation to go fight with Michelin over a couple hundred bucks. I got refunded for the front, and both the front and rear in my garage in case I need an emergence tire - otherwise they can suck it.

Do your bars oscillate if you let go of the grips at these speeds? No. And I tightened down my neck bearing about 2K miles ago.
Are these speeds affected by fuel load? No.
Vibration present when climbing/descending grades? Yes
Any change when 2-up? No
Just trying to rule out other physical factors, here.

So have I, it’s the tires.

Luckily for me I have 3 years of Harley tire and wheel protection left, I don’t feel like playing the tire lottery either. My factory front was replaced due to a nail, rear I paid for to get a matching set.
Looks like I’ll have to be driving through a few constructions sites....

My Latest update regarding my C3 front tire vibration issue. I’m writing this from my dealer’s lounge.
For the dealer to evaluate my issue, they will charge me their standard $140 diagnostic fee. Then if they determine the tire is at fault, they have to send it to Michelin for evaluation. Then if Michelin determines the tire is defective, they’ll issue a refund for the tire in about 3 weeks. So, for a potential $180 defend I have to pay the $140 diagnostic fee & $60 install fee. Whereas a new C3 is $232.
So, some quick head scratching, I told them to put a new C3 on, and send in the old one for evaluation and possible refund by Michelin.
Then if this tire does well for the next 2–3K miles when it’s time to replace my rear C2, then I’ll stick with the C3s and put a C3 in the rear.
I’ll update once I get some miles on the new front C3.
EDIT: Well damn! driving home from the dealer with my new Michelin Commander3 in the front....DAMNIT!!! It still does the weird vibration going straight between 20 -35 mph!,,,
NOW WHAT??
It’s also due front brakes. So, if I do the brakes soon, should I have the dealer replace the wheel bearing? Then there couldn’t be anything else that would cause this issue...is there?

TriGeezer, You may want to take another look at your date code.
“Oh yeah...this is my date code. So, even though I only had the tire installed 3 months ago...it was...pretty fresh..I think...if I’m reading it right it was manufactured in 12/2020. As I had it installed 12/27/2020...”
The date code that you are showing essentially says it from 2012, week 20, not 2020 week 12. The first 2 digits are week of manufacturing and the second 2 digits are the year. Mine reflect the above code pattern, 5019 & 3919. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues but only managed 3500 miles since last year. CIII Touring.
