Default Tires 101

I'm pricing a set of the Commander II's and am trying to figure out the meaning of the various letter designations found on the tires. For example, on the rear tire, my local shop quoted a price for a 150/70B 18. When I check online, I find tires listed with the letter B and also without, ie: 150/70 18 (no letter B) What does the letter "B" designate?

On the front tire, I'm finding tires listed as 90/90H-21 and tires listed without the H. Any idea what the "H" designates?

Thanks for any help.

there is no B rating on speed......must be Load Rating......

Or a manufacture change designation.

the H IS a speed rating....130MPH

I kept digging around online and figured out that the B indicates it's a Bias tire and the H is the speed rating.

Thanks for your help guys!

Got it, well done! The load rating is normally shown with the speed rating, so your tyre will be something like 77H.
