Default Axle nut torque setting.

It appears to me that using the, "HD Axle Nut Torque Adapter #47925", would add leverage to the torque value when tightening the rear axle nut. The manual shows 95-105 foot pounds using the adapter. What would the torque setting be using a socket directly on the axle nut?

Wink

It's exactly the same with a normal socket or that adapter. May seem odd, but when using a torque wrench the force applied to the socket or adapter is a twisting force, leverage is not altered. The torque applied at the square hole in the adapter is the same torque applied by the adapter to the axle nut.

Hope that puts your mind at rest!

In other words...

Use the extension at a 90° angle (see below) and use the same value...any other angle and a correction will be needed
