Default Tube with New Tires

Do you guys swap out the tubes when you swap to new tires? Are tubes size dependent? In other words, if you go with a slightly wider tire, will the stock tubes work just fine? Thanks guys.

'15 Slim. Tubes only have 4,500 miles. Just changing tires for looks. Don't now much about tubes; first tube bike!

I've done hundreds of thousands of miles on tubed tyres. Always fit new tubes with new tyres and keep the old tubes as spares, just in case you get a puncture. Fortunately with modern tyres punctures are less common than when I started riding almost 50 years ago.

I never change the tube. unless it tore. my rear tube bin on for years and it's got a patch on it. the tube should tell u what size tires they fit. they should fit a few different sizes.

New tube & rim liner. But back in the day when I was poor, old tube. LOL.

Just went to the dealer to get a price on mount and balance the new tires. $40 a piece, which I thought was a bit high. But to add to this, for spoke wheels they straight up will NOT install new tires without new tubes and bands/liner. That sounds extreme to me. I'm all about, and usually the first one, to do s job right instead of 1/2 a$$, but this seems a bit much for tubes with 4,000 miles on them. Oh well, guess it is what it is. I'll just make a risk assessment and live with it, but I'm going elsewhere.

What's the reasoning behind new tubes every time? Only answer they could give me was insurance/liability. The service guy completely agreed not necessary but his hands were tied. Just curious.

Bingo! at 4500 I probably would not worry about a new tube/strip, but I sure as hell would want to inspect them before putting them back in. If it's a tire change because of mileage... yep, new tube and strip.
