tubeless mags for RK classic
just trying to find what my options are. its my first hd and my mind is nub from reading fitment charts and diagrams hahaha. I had to search like crazy just to find out what size axle I have on the bike. ITS NOT LISTED IN THE ****ING $60 SERVICE MANUAL>>> haha me an hd are not off to a good start.
anyway in my research I came across this and just want to run it by you guys for a thumbs up or down.
""""2006-2008 Road King Wheels - The Road King in these years came with 16" x 3.0" wheels on the front and rear. The stock size replacement wheel that we carry in every wheel style on our website is the 16 x 3.5" size. If you purchase this size wheel, you can use your stock tires and will not have to change them.
On these year Road King, you can put a 16 x 3.5, 17 x 3.5, 18 x 3.5, 19 x 3.0, or 21 x 3.5 front wheel without changing anything on the bike at all. As far as the rear wheel, we recommend the 18 x 4.25 wheel with the 150/70-18 Metzeler or Avon Tire. This wheel is a GREAT fit for the Road King, looks great, rides great, and doesn't effect the ride height of the bike at all. """"
yes,,,no...??
next would be choosing wheels once I have a usable size in mind. would like to go used non spoke take offs from another hd to avoid having to buy new everything, looking for a parts compatible swap out. help a broke bum out hahahah!!

If you prefer to use cast wheel take offs you are limited to the same sizes that you currently have, namely 16" x 3", which you can get off any of the touring range of bikes from 2000 to 2007. All the other sizes you quote are custom wheels, although they are widely available and cost a lot more. We have several HDF sponsors who I'm sure will be happy to help you chose, from their wide ranges.
For cast take-offs you can check this website for part numbers for cast wheels of the same model year as your RKC. There are two styles, the round spoke used on most of the touring range, including the RK, plus the SG wheels, which look great IMHO, however they may not be so easy to find. You may be lucky and find a pair in the HDF Classified Ads, Ebay or other sources.

thanks grbrown, much needed info there. I will use cast take offs to get started as money is tight. I just don't do tubes anymore. the cheapest new rims I could find would be around $800 for a set but just don't have the money to cover wheels and tires if I go with a non HD size. I will take a look at the links you put up. thank you
