Default 401 and 402s

Can anyone tell me why my heritage came with 402 in front and 401 in the rear??? I tried to do a little research on what the difference is between the tires and I can tell which is the better tire??? Now the pattern on the tires are different. but which is the better tire???
I need a new rear and I want white walls so I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get both tires. I think I'm going to stay with the Dunlops and both front and rear come in white walls so the question remains. 401 or 402s??? what is the difference?????

I don't think you'll have all those options.

Your 16" Front is available as a 402, not a 401

Is your 16" Rear a 150 as many 03-later heritages came with? If so, 150s are available as a 401, not a 402

You can get a MU85 (140) (which came on some). it's available as a 402, not a 401

Btw the 402 Rears normally have a higher load rating
