Default Choosing Rim Strip Size?

Just ordered some new laced rims for my Dyna. 21x3.25 front and 18x5.5 rear. Can anyone tell me what widths I need when ordering rim strips for them? Is it the same as the widths of the rims (3.25 and 5.5) or narrower? Thanks for any input!

Can your wheel shop supply them? Will take all the guesswork out! Wheel tapes only cover the spoke recess, not the whole rim width, as they are only there to protect the tube from the ends of the spokes. I suspect you will find there is only one size available for 21" wheels, there may be a wide one for your 18" wheel.

Always had good results with duct tape. Tear strips to desired width. A couple of passes around the rim and all is good. I know it is old school but it works! YD
