Default 1998 wheels on a 2002

i just picked up a set of rims and tires that belonged to a 1998 Electra glide. My plan was to use them as swap outs from my WWW to black walls when ever i desired (Going onto my 2002 flhtcui ), after looking closer i see the 98 rear disc bolt pattern is not the same . and the rear hub face is wider than the 02. However the 98 Front rim looks to be the same as the rear rim on the 02 .Other than changing to a 1" bearing could i use the front 1998 rim as a rear 2002 spare ?Thanks for any info

Don't waste your time even thinking about it anymore...unless it's for an intellectual exercise (which i can appreciate). Way too many issues, one of which is that you won't be able to change those 1998 3/4" tapered roller wheel bearings to 1" ID bearings...blah, blah, blah...and the list is longer.

Depending on which style of wheels your looking for...wheels that will be a direct fit are plentiful and inexpensive.

Look for 2000-2008 Touring wheels for the easiest swap (but bearing chg needed for 2000-01 Rears and 2008 F & R)

Additionally can easily use 2009-2015 front wheels with some associative parts changing, if any meet your fancy.

BTW, I'm curious...can you post some good photos of that 98 rear wheel (left and right) ?

THANKS , for the reply , Yes lots of Work to make both work , (rear especially), had an idea to use the 98 front to go on the rear ,drop down to 3/4 inch axle ,machine bushings to accommodate the swing arm back to 1 inch , then drill out and tap left side disc holes to fit pulley bolts . Yes i will try to post pics , only plus side on this is that the tires are 402 in almost new condition
