Need Help! Tire Pressure Question
I've seen threads on tire pressure but still does not really answer the question...what is the recommended tire pressure?
Service manual says 30 front 40 rear for both Dunlop and Michelin. It also indicates 36 front 42 rear for other models of Sporsters.
I replaced my wheel to 21 X 2.15 and the front tire with Metzeler ME888 Marathon 90/90-21. Tried to find the info on the tire, but I must be blind or something cause I can't find it. Metzeler website said to refer to owners manual. I read on another thread saying front 36/40.
Any insight on recommended tire pressure? I had 20 psi so I inflated to 30/32 for now.

Not the weight of the bike itself but Yes, if you're going to be riding two up or heavily loaded for a long trip (or camping) then you should add a couple of psi. Make sure to test the tire pressure when the tire is cold, not when you've just spent the day riding around on the bike. As the tire heats up the tire pressure will rise, then when it cools it drops down again. I always check mine on Monday mornings before I ride.

thanks...I am running 32 front now so I guess I will leave it for now since braking surface is more of a priority for my style.
