I just changed my own rear tire for the first time and I have only the slightest clue of what to do with this old one. I gotta pay, like, Mr. Tire $5 to take it, right? Is there a better option? What do you guys do with yours?
Every year around Earth Day we can take all our used tires to the solid waste station where a tire recycle company loads them up. 1 day a year only.
Here was a couple of years ago:
DC should have a recycling center somewhere. There's one in my area that takes tires and a bunch of other "don't throw it in the garbage" stuff, and no charge.
I think I need to make a run over there, but I have 6 more tires to change first.
