Default Different tires front/rear - thoughts?

Folks,

I was lucky enough to score a nice new from rim and nearly new (about 500mi) Metz 880 front tire for my SG. I'm in need of a rear tire, but see that Metz has the 888 as a replacement for the 880.

Any issues or concerns with running different tires front and rear?

Thanks in advance,
Rick

Some don't play well together. Being from the same manufacturer should help.

I very rarely have had a matching set on the bike in 90000 miles...you're fine. Don't drink the mfg Koolaid, they want you to buy or use one of theirs every time...Best combination I had was a Elite 3 on rear and d402 on the front.

You'll be just fine, any minute handling differences will go unnoticed to the average rider.

I have a 2014 wheel and tire on the front with a Dunlop and a Metz 880 on the rear. Rides fine. I'd do some research on the 888 from Brazil. I've heard stories and seen pics of tire separation. They are no longer made in Germany.

I have the METZ 888 21" up front, which now has 3,000 miles on-zero issues, no separation, handles awesome in our Mountain-ess and Well Curvy State. Running the stock Dunlop on the rear which has lil over 5,000!

Aside from any handling or performance characteristics, aesthetically running two different tires would drive me completely BONKERS...LOL...hahahahahah. Seriously though, I'd lose sleep over that.
