Are you looking for "seat of the pants" feedback or how to do it?... A "Touring" wheel will need the rotor mounting flange milled to reestablish the left bearing to rotor mounting flange dimensional relationship of you original 21" wheel. What sizes are you interested in...19,18,17,16"? If any FL Softail style wheels meet your fancy, they would work out better dimensionally. Are you going to change your front fender or run without?
I think the following link will give you quite an insight on your proposed journey. My Buddy Ray changed from the same 21" WG wheel to a 19" narrowglide wheel and then to a 18" Sporty "SuperLow" while reporting significant improvements in handling.

Thanks Multihdrdr, I have a set of wheels from my Road Glide and wanted to see if anyone had put a front wheel on a Wide Glide. My 02 Super Glide handles much better than the Wide Glide through the ruts in the road. I measured the wheels and it looks like it will fit with the correct spacers. I just wanted to see pictures of one installed.
