Hello ladies and gentlemen! I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I have some questions for you guys, so I figured I'd post here because if anyone would have the answers, you guys would! I recently got a new job (corrections officer), and as a present for myself I am now currently putting money away for a 2007 super glide. Black of course :O). I've always wanted a harley and I just fell in love with this bike. I've been riding an unmentionable brand of 80's hardware for almost 3 years now. Time to move on! I do have some questions though. I read recently that the tc96 engines were prone to overheating problems. Has anyone here had any issues with this new engine? I also see that the 07 superglide has only a single seat. I have to tow the woman around, so I was wondering if a two-up saddle can be fitted without having to make any major modifications? I forgot to ask about that at the dealer, should they be able to fit one? I'd also like to add a detachable windshield and backrest for some serious long distance cruising. I've heard of a riders package that can be purchased with the bike that includes some of those things. Does anyone have any experience with it, or know about how much it would add to the bikes cost? I was credit approved for 17,000 dollars at the dealer under tier 1. But, I'd like to keep the monthly payments under 200 dollars if possible. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks for your time, and hopefully around the end of april I'll be out on the road!

Welcome from your neighbor!

I have had no problems with my 07. I did most of my riding in Florida in October but didn't notice overheating. I ride fairly hard and haven't had any of the issues I hear about on here.

I have the detachable windshield and it is nice, but the clamps suck. I have broke 2 of them. They are covered by HD and I got free ones, but the price I paid for the shield, I shouldn't have to worry about clamps breaking and losing my windshield.

Welcome to the forum from a retired CO.

You can add a two up seat to the Supergluide. You will also have to add passenger pegs. I'd suggest looking at Mustang seats if you are going to change it out. IMO they are the best you can sit on! M&M Cyle sels them at a decent discount.

As for the overheating problem. It's a big air cooled V Twin. Yeah, it runs hot. I haven't had any issues with overheating though, but to be fair mine is new and it's cold here. I don't expect any heating problems though.
