His n Hers in the UK
Hi,
My good friend from my school days called me in Aug 2013 and told me he had just bought a Dyna Super Glide. We have been talking about Harley's since we were both 13 so it only took him 34 years to eventually buy one.
Of course I clearly needed to buy one too but this presented me with a couple of problems firstly the last bike I rode was my wife's (then girlfriend) 50cc moped about 25 years ago and I didn't have a full bike license in addition I also needed to convince my wife that buying a Harley was a good idea.
I started with the wife as I expected this to be the biggest hurdle. I suggested that as Simon had bought a bike then I had no choice but to do the same as we agreed this when we were boys. To my amazement she said "well you can have a Harley if I can have a Harley"
As neither of us had full bike licenses we both enrolled on a crash course of training and tests. We also visited the local Harley dealer and both fell in love with almost every bike in the store.
Well that call from my friend has cost me an absolute fortune as I spent about £1000 on training and tests and bought two new 2014 bikes. I am now the very proud owner of a new Softail Slim which I have been riding for about 6 weeks and my lovely wife is the proud owner of an 883 Iron that she is also now able to ride.
So the first bike I have ever owned is a vivid black Softail Slim, my mid life crisis is progressing along nicely and I'm not even in trouble at home.
