Hello all, my name is Jerry (I feel like this is an AA meeting now). A little bit about me: I am a 16 year military member currently serving on the East Coast. Looking forward to retirement in four or five years, but that is another thread! I have been riding different types of bikes for over twenty years now, but I am getting ready to buy my first Harley in a couple of days. I started out in the 90s on sport bikes and then quit riding for a few years after a serious accident. I then went to Victory with my last bike being a Vegas. I truly love the Victory brand, but I think there is still not enough dealer or aftermarket support for the true riding enthusiast, especially if like me you like to tinker and add to your bike. The reason I am going with H-D is because A - American made (why I liked Victory as well) and B - the fit and finish is awesome. The bikes are like rolling works of art which is something most other brands (Ducati aside) have yet to figure out.

I am getting a Softail Slim after much soul searching. Originally I was thinking of a Street Glide, but my wife said "you don't look like you belong on that, you need something more stripped down." I have to say, after sitting on both I agreed. I am just a less is more type of guy.
