Default Newbie, that needs buying advice

Hi everyone,

I've just joined here, as I need some impartial buying advice...

The bike I'm after is the FXDX super glide sport, these seem to be quite rare in the UK, but I have found one.

It's up for sale at £6500 which according to the dealership, is quite a good price.

The bike is standard apart from uprated front brake hoses and the 1550 bore kit.

The guy selling the bike has no service records for the bike, he's the 8th owner and he doesn't really know what else was done to the bike with the 1550 conversion....

I've not seen the bike "in the flesh", only photos on ebay, it looks superb.
It's about 120 miles away, so not local.

Spoke to the dealer today, and although they said it was a good price, and low miles (12,500), they said with that many owners since 2002 and zero service records, it's possible that it's never been serviced (however unlikely).

Don't know what to do.

So any advice would be appreciated!

Dave

Sounds pretty scary to me. What year? 8 owners? Really? No records? Not even for the big bore kit? That would be around $10,000 US, pretty expensive for a Dyna. JMHO.

I only like to buy from original owner. Only way I would buy from the 8th owner was if something was 50 years old. What year is this bike?

I think if the bike has had 8 owners, there's probably a reason they've all sold it... at least 7 of them have so far.
