New Harley owner looking for a good set of pipes
Hello to all, i am a new member to the HD Forum and a week old owner of a 2005 Electra Glide. I have been an avid rider for 12-15 years. I have previously been riding a suzuki boulevard 1500. the first one was an 05 and the second was an 07. I put about 80,000 miles on between the bikes and LOVE to ride. My wife also rides and owns her own bike. (Kawasaki Drifter 800) I am looking put a new set of pipes on the glide and am looking for some advise on what runs and sounds the best. I had a set of Hard krome on my boulevard and loved the sound. I have seen and or heard that the Hard Krome tru duals on the electra glides are a bit loud. Looking for a medium loud sound but the classic low rumble of a Harley. Any advise would be great.

First....welcome to the Forum.
Getting that "perfect" sound is as individual as anything else anyone does to their bike. I was looking for (I believe) exactly what you are looking for. I watched some YouTube videos, which was only a little helpful. Went to a couple bike events and listened, and kind of narrowed it down. The problem was I didn't know what other mods any of those guys may have made to their bikes that was contributing to the exhaust note. I finally ended up at the parts counter at the dealer, with three options I'd narrowed my search to. Plus they were having a sale. I was lucky enough that they had used bikes on the floor with the systems I was interested in and on bikes pretty much like mine (same motor, no other mods). We started each one up so I could hear them. The parts manager even said they'd ride each one in the lot for me to hear if I wanted. I went with the Screamin' Eagle Street Performance slip-ons and I absolutely love them. So does my wife, surprisingly. They are just what I was looking for. They're not what everyone would want, obviously. Hope this helps.

Welcome.
I put the Screaming Eagle Street Cannons on mine. Not too loud but enough to hear it and it sounds great when you twist the throttle.
It's nice and won't **** the neighbors off
