Default Putting CFR Slip-ons on stock 2012 Road King

I just purchased a 2012 Road King Classic and have decided to buy Cary Faas Racing (CFR) fluted slip ons. The bike is completely stock at this point. My question is...do I need any tuning or a different air cleaner or can I just remove the stock mufflers and install the CFR's? My local Harley dealer says I need to bring the bike in "just to make sure" it's ok and runs right. I feel like they're just trying to make some $$$.

Welcome from Jacksonville, Florida! Most of the time if all you change is slip-ons, nothing else is needed.

With just slip ons you should be OK, but Harleys run lean to begin with, so every performance step you make "pushes" you closer and closer to needing/requiring a fuel tuner. It is up to you how well you want your bike to run and of course $$ is always involved. So if you stop now and your bike runs great, leave it alone, but if it does not feel/sound right then you might have to do something extra - thats where it gets interesting, the myraid of choices to help your bike run better. I do not think your Harley dealer is giving you bad info.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy the ride. Maybe if adding a/c go with XIED or similar (lot cheaper than an unnecessary tuner if you are not making extensive mods)/
