vance and hines
Dear all, I just fitted my 2012 super low 883 with Vance and Hines 3 1/2" slash cut slipons, I did not change the intake and it is the stock intake. I have a few questions that need answers from any wise ones out there
1 do i need to remap the ecu or get a fuel pak (i do not want an increase in performance)?
2 will running my bike in the current configuration damage the engine?
3 will a leaky exhaust cross feed gasket damage the engine?

Hi! I am a newbie also but I can answer #1 & 2 cause I recently changed to the v&h big radius I had them installed by a mechanic with 20yrs experience with Harleys and I asked essentially the same questions.
Answer to 1: He said that unless I changed the air breather/cleaner that I would not need to remap or buy the fuel pak. He explained it but it has something to do with the combination of pipes & more air.
Answer to 2: Just changing the pipes & not getting remap/fuel pak would not damage the engine. However, removing baffles and/or changing the air breather without getting remap or fuel pak would likely damage engine.
Hope that helps!

Cut your baffles about 5" long, bigger cam, racing ignition, and remap. But that may be more than you want to do for now.
