Riders with young children

RE: Riders with young children
I have an 11 year old and his mother rides as well. He started ring on the back with me at around 8 years old. He loves it and I can never get out alone when he's around, but that's a good thing. The worst thing is that I crashed (without him thank God) and now he is constantly telling me to slow down, watch out, don't go on the highway.... I would not trade the experiences of riding with him for anything. If we travel a long distance, I will trailer the bike, then ride when I get there. No sense travelling hours with him on a highway.

Lot of good advise here. My boy was 9 when I got mine. He rides everywhere with me. If you can ride to work, you solvethe issue of not having time to ride. Most important, don't lose sight of your obligation to your wife & kids. THAT will getyou in trouble. Also, don't be caught staring at it when your supposeto be doing something with the kids or wife.

We have a 21 month old little girl. Both my wife and I have Harleys, We ride when we can and our little girl comes first, If you can afford to have one and take care of your family, you are blessed as we are. Just be careful, I myself have started to do some stupid stuff then realized hey, Im a dad, knock it off..lol.. Best of luck. If you don't get the bike, don't be angry at your wife, you will get another chance for a bike Im sure.
