Just came in the gate !
Hey All,
Aaron here. Brand Newbie.
Just wanted to say hello to all, and write my first post.
I am beyond exited. The moment has finally arrived !
I am going tomorrow morning at 5 AM to drive 3 hours, and put a deposit on
a '99 Softail ! I have been waiting for this day since I got my license 5 years ago, but have never had the funds to get a Harley.
I am graduating from a Suzuki Intruder VS800. Bought that bike for $340 out of pocket, and spent a winter putting it back together and getting it running. It treated me pretty well, but certainly wasn't big enough for me and my wife.
I ride most often with 2 buds - one's got a Fatboy Lo, and the other just upgraded from a Dyna Wideglide to a 2012 Streetglide. They know I've been salivating for a few years now. I've wanted a Softail standard since I first had a poster hanging on my wall at 14 yrs old, with Paulina Porizkova on it.
The day has finally come. Man, I am high as a kite right now !
I know that I will probably have a few questions, since I've only been
wrenching on metrics. I had done some small work on my buddies Fatboy,
but I was so afraid to put a scratch or fingerprint on it, as he keeps it
immaculate.
Thanks for having me on here, and hope maybe I can lend some insight too.
I have 24 years knowledge of electrics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding,
schematics, metallurgy, mechanics, and other stuff.
