The Fatboy has landed
Finally after a few weeks agonising wait my 2009 Fatboy was delivered yesterday . Its pretty std at the moment with a few accessories and some Vance & Hines slip on straight shots which sound awesome. I'm lovin the Red Hot Sunglo paint job as well, its not the candy one I've seen on some American Harley's its quite a dark red.
The weather is pretty shitty over here at the moment with April well and truly living up to the whole "showers" thing. Which is why I'm sat here typing this rather than out on the Fatboy. I just hope that the rest of the summer follows the proper seasonal weather and we actually get some good cruising days. Anyway I managed a couple of trips yesterday and once I got used to the different riding position, throttle response, brakes etc. (from the Triumph America I just traded in) I have to say I absolutely loved it. One of my biggest issues with the America was that it was to buzzy, it needed a 6th gear, so once you'd get to around sixty it like sitting on a vibrator, after about 30 minutes my nuts would be numb. No such problem with the Fatboy where 6th clearly is a highway cruising gear and isn't needed on the country roads I was riding on. I actually found it easier to chuck around the bends than the America which I was a bit surprised about.
I never really got the Harley thing before but I bloody well do now..... fantastic, epic, pulsating.....its like I'm riding on Beelzebub's back.
Anyhow it looks like sitting around drinking beer with my mate and talking about riding is as far as it will get today. Roll on the good weather.
