Default 1st time owner from Canada

Hi all!

1st time HD owner. Purchased a RG for me and a softail deluxe for her. Looking forward to our first ride!

Any advice on keeping the customization costs down a bit? Other than abstaining! A new 90 degree intake was $767. Yikes!

Welcome and good choice on bikes!

Where in Canada are you from?

Ride your bikes as stock for awhile but realistically you're going to want to tune it (stage 1 at least) which is usually an air filter, EFI mapper and slip ons to start - some people do cams and more right away. I went KN filter, Screaming Eagle Racing Tuner (SERT) and Vance and Hines slip-ons. It's important to find a good mechanic who owns and knows his way around a dyno. My current numbers are posted in my sig.

The other big thing is comfort. For me and the wife that meant 16 apes and a 4 piece mustang super touring seat, and an Ikea sheepskin but that all depends on you getting ergonomic which is not easy to do, and what you do with the bike. There are tons of helpful threads on here about almost any topic.

Welcome from Edmonton. As for your question as Zuul said. Ride then think what you want to do to personalize and or get performance. Find a good dealer or indy you can work with or trust.

The only advice I could give is to stay the hell out of here, unless you want to empty your wallet!!!
