one more new old guy...
hey all,
I am glad to be here, I have been reading and this place is helping me to decide what I want to get.
I am a retired MSG/1SG, 25 years in the Army. I have ridden for 30 years and have owned about every make of bike you can.
I have had two Sportsters and I think I am going to give Harley a try again. I can't leave anything I ride the way it is. I am a welder/fabricator and I gotta make it mine.
this is my last bike. I sold it last spring to pay for my wedding (ya, I know). last summer was the first time since I was stationed in Gemany 95-97 that I haven't ridden (well except all those times I was out gett'n shot at). anyway... ready for a bike. never had a new bike and I am leaning real heavy toward the Forty Eight. I just love the look.
here is my last bike... a before and after for ya.
$1200. and it ran great...
about $500. and a few months later...

Welcome, looked at that 72 last weekend at a dealer in Holland, they had two side by side, one Red Flake and the other Black, the Red Flake one certainly stood out in a crowd I must admit. Anyways welcome and hope you get to ride soon.
