Default Hello from Afghanistan

Greg_K, welcome to the site. I'm also new here but I've been riding for many years. Since you identified yourself as a new rider, I feel the need to throw my 2 cents in. . While most riders I've talked to feel the need to change out the exhaust and add jet kits for more power, I believe the first thing that should be done to all bikes is improve safety. Simple things like replace the stock horn with an air horn. Mine has saved me a couple times. Also by adding a run/brake/turn kit, your rear blinkers will turn into running lights, brake lights and blinkers. The more light you have in back the better you will be seen. an example is www.jpcycles.com/Product/300-000

BTW, to explain the title, I live in Northern Virginia, but currently been in afgh for last 6 months supporting our soldiers.

Welcome to the forum from southeastern Michigan. Take your time and look around because there is plenty of useful information that many took pains to find out and it is there just for the looking.
Enjoy,
