They make a seat that moves the rider back a bit and you can also get a kit to move the tourpack backwards as well for the passenger. That should give you all the room you need.

I purchased a 2002 ultra last year from a shorter fellow than myself. I'm 6' 5" and 250 lbs. I had a 1999 Suzuki Intruder 1500 before that. The Ultra was very tight until I bought a tall man saddle ($200) and added the floorboard extensions. It fits great now and is much more comfortable than the Intruder. I put my big sister on the back 6'1" and 220 lbs. and we did fine. I worried that the 88 cu. in. motor wouldn't be enough...no problem. The original seats are too short for us tall guys, but there are solutions. By the way I do have an original plush seat for sale.

I don't see how that could be possible.I'm 6ft 3in,& I ride an ultra,& i'm not cramped.I very rarely even use my highway pegs.Did you father in law change the seat?? Harley does sell a seat that will move you futher back on the ultra!!!

I'm 6'1" and I too felt cramped.

A Mustang Super Touring seat that moves the rider back 1 3/4" fixed it for me.

On my Ultra I had the HD Tallboy seat, and the George Anderson tour pak relocator. That should give you and your passenger all the room you will ever need.
